ADR 62/02
ADR 62/02
At BTA Towing Equipment, we take safety and quality seriously. In Australia, towbars must meet strict standards and regulations to ensure they are compatible with vehicles and guarantee a safe towing experience. The primary standard governing towbar manufacturing is the Australian Design Rule 62/02 (ADR 62/02), part of the Australian Design Rules (ADRs) dedicated to vehicle safety and emissions.
Our towbars meet the key requirements outlined in ADR 62/02, including load capacity, mounting points, tongue design, electrical connections, labeling, and compliance markings. Each towbar is designed and manufactured to handle specific loads based on the vehicle's Gross Trailer Mass (GTM) and the towbar's class rating.
Rest assured, our towbars undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and performance before they are available for sale. We label each towbar with relevant information, including our manufacturer's name, towbar rating, and compliance markings, making it easy for you to identify the specifications.
To guarantee a safe and reliable towing experience, always choose towbars that meet the Australian standards and are suitable for your specific vehicle and towing needs. Look for compliance labels or markings when purchasing a towbar to ensure it meets ADR 62/02 requirements. Additionally, we recommend having our qualified professionals install your towbar to ensure a proper fit and compliance with safety standards. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities at BTA Towing Equipment.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Ensuring the longevity of your towbar starts with proper maintenance. Regularly clean the towbar, hitch receiver, tongue, and lock with a water-based detergent, avoiding high-intensity pressure washers to protect the paint. Watch out for paint wear and surface rust, particularly if you live near the coast or expose your vehicle to saltwater. If necessary, sand off affected areas and apply enamel-based paint for metal.
